Ahead of the scheduled Flex Learning Day on Monday, September 28, we want to keep you informed about this year’s scheduled Flex Learning Days and how they will impact your child’s education. 

Please be aware: Closing-related Flex Learning Days are used after two weather-related school closure days to keep the school year on track. More information about closing-related Flex Learning Days will be sent closer to winter.

Scheduled Flex Learning Days

Purpose

Scheduled Flex Learning Days are designed to keep student schedules on track while allowing teachers time for required professional development. On these days, all students will remain at home. Middle and high school students will continue their school work through materials posted on Schoology and opportunities to connect with their teachers during scheduled virtual office hours. Preschool and elementary students will not have school on these days. Before and after school activities and community education classes will take place as they would on a normal school day. 

The Flex Learning Days for the 2026-27 school year are:

• September 28
• December 7
• February 16

What to Expect

Preschool and Elementary School: No school on these days. The elementary schedule we have meets the state requirements for the mandated number of school days. 

Middle School and High School: Students complete school work and meet with teachers virtually. This work qualifies the Flex Learning Day as a regular school day because, without these days, we will not meet the state requirements for the mandated number of school days. 

• Students will continue learning through Schoology and virtual connections with teachers. 
• Teachers will post materials to Schoology by the start of the school day and communicate when they will be hosting virtual office hours to support students.
