Pre-register for Visits by September 14

Starting September 14, visitors must pre-register before visiting a school in our district.  

Before the end of last school year, Inver Grove Heights Schools (ISD 199) installed updated security systems at each school’s front entrance. As part of the district’s 2024 promise to enhance safety, the security system and accompanying visitor management system updates have expanded screening tools and safety supports for front offices to keep our buildings more secure.

To help us further secure student spaces, we are asking all visitors, including parents, to pre-register before visiting an ISD 199 school. Visitors can pre-register any time, even months before a visit, and their pre-registration will stay active for the full school year.* Pre-registration will also speed up their sign-in process.

Whether you are planning to attend a school performance, have lunch with your child, or enter the school for any other reason, please pre-register using the steps below:

Pre-register Today

  1. Visit www.isd199.org/safety.
  2. Under “Visitor Pre-registration,” select the building you plan to visit.
    • If you plan to visit more than one building, please pre-register for each. Pre-registration links are unique to each building.
  3. Enter your email address and scan your state-issued ID. 
    • The system will run a background check and your pre-registration will be submitted for district approval.
  4. Before heading to the school, look for an email to confirm that your pre-registration has been approved.

Once you're pre-registered, you can stop by the school’s front office, enter your email address into the check-in tablet, and get a picture for your visitor badge. Please wear your visitor badge at all times during your visit.

Information added to our visitor management system is for school security only and is not shared outside of our district.
